Leader Spotlight: Debi Dallmeyer on Driving Success at Travisoft and Vencora

Having spent over 17 years at Travisoft, she has grown from an administrative role to her current position as General Manager of Travisoft and Director of Strategy, Transformation, and Integration at Vencora. Her career progression reflects our commitment to investing in people and empowering them to take on new challenges.
In this edition of our CEO interview series, we spoke with Debi about her career journey, the impact of being part of Vencora, and her vision for the future of Travisoft.
Can you tell me about your personal career journey, including the key milestones over 17 years at Travisoft?
When Travisoft was first acquired, I was an Administrative Director responsible for invoicing and payables, and my role also incorporated client renewals and communication. As a journalism major, I wanted to move more into marketing and communications. However, my role allowed me to have a better understanding of our business operations, processes, and customers.
Shortly after we were acquired by Vencora in 2012 and they invested in our marketing function, I was able to leverage that experience to move into the role of Sales and Marketing Director. This was an exciting opportunity, as it aligned with my functional interests, but I didn’t realize at the time how beneficial it would be for me to understand even more about the areas of the business.
Being able to serve in different parts of the business and work with customers in different capacities gave me a personal connection to the success of Travisoft. That experience and personal passion gave me the preparation and commitment necessary for when I moved into the position of General Manager of Travisoft.

In addition to being the General Manager of Travisoft, you’ve now also taken on a role as Director of Strategy, Transformation and Integration at Vencora. What has this next step in your career provided for your development?
I’m very excited to have grown into this new role. Taking on the role of Director of Strategy, Transformation, and Integration at Vencora has been an incredible opportunity for my professional growth. It has allowed me to broaden my strategic thinking and deepen my understanding of organizational change. I’m looking forward to collaborating with diverse teams, and enhancing my leadership and communication skills in this role.
Overall, I’m looking forward to an experience that has enriched my perspective and equipped me with new tools to drive Vencora's success. As we grow, it’s imperative we give back to the organization that has fed into us, and I look at this new opportunity as a way to do that.

Can you provide an overview of Travisoft and its offerings?
Travisoft is a company specializing in benefits administration software, offering solutions designed to simplify processes for third-party administrators, brokers, private employers, and public entities. Our key solutions include: COBRA administration and compliance, retiree & direct billing, print fulfillment, digital payments and more. With over 32 years of experience, Travisoft continues to innovate in the benefits administration industry, focusing on exceptional service, constant innovation, and integrity.
Travisoft has been part of Vencora for 13 years. What has being a part of Vencora provided your company over this time?
Being with Vencora has provided us a launching pad for best practices and personal development. Sharing best practices across businesses allows us to make better decisions for our clients and our employees. These best practices have helped Travisoft become closer to our clients, put in place more health checks and onsite visits to ensure we’re meeting industry standard responses. Vencora also provides exceptional tools for professional development and conferences that allow us to network across businesses learning how to apply these best practices in real life.
Looking forward, what are your primary goals for Travisoft and what’s next for its future?
At Travisoft, our goal is to be as customer-centric as possible, while investing in our people for professional growth. We believe that investing in our people’s development and growth provides better outcomes for our customers. For example, we’ve recently had two of our senior team members participate in Vencora Leadership Academy’s program LIFT, a ten-week program focused on supporting leadership development and fostering teamwork.
Another policy we have in place at Travisoft is a requirement for all employees to participate in 50 hours of professional development each year. This encourages and enables all of our team members to hone new skills and provide better and faster responses to our customers.

What are the biggest challenges and opportunities you see facing the insurance and Insurtech industries right now, and how is Travisoft prepared for them?
As a software company, we understand the importance of staying ahead in the rapidly evolving insurance industry:
Technological integration is crucial, as embracing and integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI and blockchain requires significant investment and change management for insurtech companies.
Cybersecurity threats are a major challenge, especially with increasing digitization. At Travisoft, we prioritize protecting sensitive customer data from cyber threats through robust security measures and continuous monitoring.
Regulatory compliance demands continuous vigilance and adaptation to navigate complex and evolving regulatory environments. Our software is built to help insurance companies stay compliant with the latest regulations, reducing the risk of non-compliance and ensuring peace of mind.
How do you drive innovation at your company? What strategies do you have to further growth?
Insurtech companies can drive innovation by embracing digital transformation, fostering a culture of creativity, leveraging data analytics, and collaborating with traditional insurers. At Travisoft, we focus on customer-centric solutions, adopt agile methodologies, and invest in robust cybersecurity measures. These strategies will help insurtech companies stay competitive, enhance customer experiences, and bring innovative products to market quickly.

Have you ever collaborated with, or leveraged the expertise of any of your sister companies within the portfolio to become Stronger Together? What happened and what were the impacts?
Absolutely! We partner with one of our sister companies, Covenir, for print fulfillment and lockbox. Partnering with Covenir has allowed us to serve our clients better and of course provides additional services we can provide our customers. During the pandemic, there was a legislation change that required quick turnaround and an increase in the correspondence our customers had to produce. Partnering with Covenir allowed us to provide an additional service which greatly helped our customers, but also helped Travisoft with providing back-to-base opportunities and improving customer intimacy.
Additionally, there are many other companies within Vencora’s portfolio that I have asked advice and shared best practices with. We really do learn from each other and those cumulative experiences make us Stronger Together.
What have events like Elevate meant to you? How have these enabled stronger talent development and progression?
Vencora’s networking events, such as Elevate, are integral to our talent development. As someone who has grown within Vencora, these events were instrumental to my learning and growth. Our people are our greatest assets, and the result is providing a better experience for our customers. Through these events, I personally was able to meet people in a variety of roles, which lead to me wanting to move into a General Manager position, and then now into my new role at Vencora. At these events, I learned how to better measure health metrics, track sales, and understand the needs and deliverables of IT and engineering, which is not my background.
At the most recent Elevate event in fall 2024, what stood out to me was Vencora’s growing focus on Diversity and Inclusion and Customer Intimacy. It highlighted that however well we think we know our customers, we can always know them better, and that finding better ways to connect is important. Further, in order to understand customers better, we have to first understand each other better and discussing Diversity and Inclusion allows us to do that.
Additionally, last year’s event also provided me a leadership opportunity to craft content for the attendees from Vencora and its businesses. It was an amazing experience and an opportunity to feed into the learning of current and up-and-coming leaders, while allowing me to stretch myself and gain new insights, as well.
